ABOUT US AND CONTACT DETAILS
BIO-DYNAMIC AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA

In 1953 the Bio-Dynamic Agricultural Association of Australia (BDAAA) was founded as a training body to aid farmers in developing the skills and techniques to change from conventional to Bio-Dynamic farming. All members are bonafide owner/operator farmers, who form a purposeful Guild, which also mentors newly converting farmers by providing support and advice.

Bio-Dynamic farmers develop skills to "culture" the soil. (Hence the original meaning of the word AGRI-CULTURE, or soil-culture). Every aspect of primary production should be based on the understanding of the dynamic interplay of soil life as basis for plant and animal health, and the reciprocal influence thereof. Due to the workings of this dynamic principle, plant and soil become effective mediators of quality food - essential for man and animal.

BIO-DYNAMIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE
The Bio-Dynamic Research Institute was founded in 1957, and is involved in research of the Bio-Dynamic Agricultural Method. In 1967 it was vested with the rights and supervision of the DEMETER Trademark in Australia. Part of this role is the certification of DEMETER quality products. This activity is recognised by the Australian Government through the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) which audits Organic and Bio-Dynamic Standards to meet international requirements.

Once the required standard has been established, operators may apply to the Bio-Dynamic Research Institute (BDRI) to become certified users of the DEMETER Trademark. This is an international trademark which has been used in Australia since 1953 to symbolise quality produce achieved by using the Bio-Dynamic Method.
